Proclaim His Love

Worship

Sep 20, 2026

Today’s Message is about worship, corporate worship, where we come together as the local body of Christ and offer praise and adoration for all that the Lord has done, and has done for us as individuals. May we never get over the great sacrifice that our Savior made for our sins, that we might know Him and the power of His love, and that we may experience the glories of heaven with Him throughout all of eternity.

You have never received a greater gift than your salvation, we therefore must worship Him. In the Bible we read about worship almost 300 times. In John 4, Jesus speaks of the importance of worship 8 times in just 4 verses. This is our text today, as we consider the correct way to worship God, and Jesus provides one of His most extensive teaching on the subject of worship in this passage.

Today we will ask 2 questions for your self examination.

1.  If you were to grade yourself on worship- would you get an “A” or an “F”. Keep in mind- worship is a verb, not a noun. How are you doing on your worship?

2.  What does “Worship” mean and how do we get it right?

Jesus reveals the correct way to worship using one statement in v 24 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Today's message is about worship — specifically, corporate worship.

This is when we come together as the local body of Christ to praise and adore the Lord for all He has done. Not just for what He has done for us as a church, but for what He has done for each of us personally.

May we never grow numb to the great sacrifice our Savior made for our sins. Because of the cross, we can know Him. We can know the power of His love. And we can look forward to experiencing the glories of heaven with Him for all eternity.

You have never received a greater gift than your salvation. That is why we must worship Him.

The Bible talks about worship nearly 300 times. In John 4, Jesus speaks about worship ten times in just five verses. That tells us this is a subject our Lord takes seriously.

This is our text today as we consider the correct way to worship God. In this passage, Jesus gives us one of His most extensive teachings on worship.

Today we will ask two questions for your self-examination.

First: If you were to grade yourself on worship, would you get an "A" or an "F"? Keep in mind — worship is a verb, not a noun. It is something we do, not just something we feel. So how are you doing on your worship?

Second: What does "worship" actually mean, and how do we get it right?

Jesus reveals the correct way to worship with one statement in verse 24: "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24).
