Lift up your Eveyes

Next Sunday after the worship service, we will host a new Members class. This class is for all who may be interested in partnering with FBC in the Mission of our church, which is to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and share the gospel.

If you have questions about becoming a member, or maybe you are already a member and would like to review our mission, and what it means to be a member. I encourage you to join us after the service.

A Lite lunch will be provided; the class normally lasts about one hour.

This Sunday we will conclude our messages concerning he woman at the well. And turn to a phrase that you have often heard, “Lift up your eyes for the fields are white unto harvest.” Jesus often used farming analogies in His preaching, as the people in an agrarian society most all knew at least a little about farming. His analogy in John 4 speaks of the harvest ripening

This one is a one of urgency, much as the Master had an urgency about going to Samaria in order to meet with the Woman at the well, and she had an urgency about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people of the town.

In Verses 35-38 Jesus speaks of the same urgency with the disciples.  Not to wait, but to get about the Father’s business. The opportunities are plentiful, but the laborers are few He stated in Matt 9.
