FBC Family,

Our Mission Statement says- First Baptist is a family of faith committed to fulfilling the Great Commission as given by Christ. Our mission is to give ourselves daily to connect the people of Hazard and Perry County to the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

How can we move forward to complete the Mission? To fulfill the Great commission, to connect family and friends with the Good News of Jesus Christ, to share the gospel, to faithfully present the gospel to our community and county, and also to the uttermost parts of the world?

Locally we seek to share Christ using every opportunity available. This past week at the Black Gold Festival, we shared with hundreds of people about the mercy and grace of God. Sewing the Word of God in many hearts.

Galatians 6:7 says For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. This is often used in a negative context, but there is also the positive. If we sew the Word of God, if we are effective in sharing it with many, I believe that we will receive a large harvest.

Paul writing to the Corinthians said in 2 Cor 9:6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

May we as a church continue to look for new ways to sew God’s Word bountifully in our community - may we combine our ideas, energy and resources to fulfill the Great Commission within our community.

May we each have a goal to communicate the gospel with every person that we work with, with every friend and relative that we have, and even people we are casually acquainted with. May we be faithful in sewing, in lifting up the Name of Jesus
