Sunday Morning Service
FBC Family,
It has been an incredibly busy month at Hazard First Baptist! Between Baby Dedications, the High School Senior breakfast and Baccalaureate, the Ice Cream meeting at Thursday on the Grand, and our baptismal service, God has richly blessed us. We are so thankful for the mission He has given us and for the members who dedicated their time to provide these ministries to our church and community.
Next Sunday, during Memorial Day Weekend, we have a very special service planned. We will be honoring our graduating High School Seniors.
Today, we are diving into the story of Lazarus in John chapter 11. Because this powerful story spans the entire chapter, we could easily spend a month studying everything it has to teach us. In our message today we hope to explore:
The reasons behind Christ's delayed return to Bethany.
Mary and Martha’s understandable responses to His delay.
Martha’s "perturbed" yet persistent faith.
The shortest verse in the English Bible, "Jesus wept," and its profound meaning.
The marvelous "I Am" statement that speaks volumes about who Christ was and is: "I am the Resurrection and the Life."
I encourage you to spend a few minutes this week studying this incredible text on your own.
