Proclaim His Love

United not Divided

Aug 9, 2026

Next Saturday, First Baptist Church will kick off a new Men's Discipleship Breakfast, meeting from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. We'll start with a light breakfast, followed by a sit-down study of "The Basics of Our Faith."

Jesus didn't say, "Go and make converts." He said, "Go and make disciples" (Matthew 28:19). A disciple is not someone who simply prayed a prayer or walked an aisle. A disciple is someone being intentionally transformed to follow Jesus in every area of life. And that kind of transformation doesn't happen by accident. It requires a plan.

We would never leave a baby to fend for itself and say, "Do the best you can." Instead, we nurture, teach, and protect that child until it can walk, feed itself, exercise, and grow into a productive member of society.

In the same way, we must teach men who follow Christ how to live out what they've become. We need to guide them in sharing their faith effectively, dealing with temptation and sin, becoming leaders in the church, and loving and leading their families.

We must teach the essentials of the faith—how to pray and how to study God's Word.

Mark your calendars: The kickoff Breakfast is August 15 at 8:00 a.m. Men, make plans to be there, bring a friend with you and your sons.

On August 22nd we will be going to the monthly Men’s Breakfast at Willowfern Baptist Church - leaving from FBC at 8:30 a.m.
