Proclaim His Love

Sunday Morning Service

FBC Family,

In our message today we will consider some oxymoronic statements that were made by a crowd of people that should have been thankful, should have been rejoicing in the miracles of Christ, that a deaf and mute man was healed.

Yet many within that crowd were despicable. Blinded by their own prejudices which possessed them and did not allow them to know the truth. Much of which was religious thinking. These committed the unpardonable sin; attributing the works of God to Satan.

This is a passage that I would have considered not preaching on, skipping over in my studies and preaching due to the questions that it raises and the subject of demon possession. Thinking “what does this passage provide for us as 21st century believers”?

While the text may seem difficult at first look, it provides 3 truths that we certainly must consider:

1. The Unpardonable Sin

2. No Middle Ground

3. Dangers of religion

And here is the unpardonable sin for a Baptist preacher- listing a 4th point, yet it is one that must be stated- 4. Blessed are those that hear the Word of God.

I submit to you that there is nothing more important in our Christian walk than the Word of God. The Bible provides all that we need to know for how to live our lives, It is the “Instruction Manual” for our lives. It is vitally important in our walk in this world and in our walk with Christ. May we be like Job who said in Job 23: 12b, “I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food”
