Pretty Feet
This is pastor tim from Hazard First Baptist with Today’s Good News.
Today I want to ask you a very important personal question, something which you may have never considered, and you probably haven’t even thought about. Yet this is a subject that you must consider – one that you really need to take the time to evaluate in your life, one that you may even need to ask others about – and also be honest about.
It is especially a question that all Christians need to consider- think about, and even anguish about this question- here it is- do you have pretty feet?
Have you ever considered that question? oh I certainly hope you have – today I want you to consider this question. In Romans 10:14-17 Paul uses Deductive reasoning in to get a point across.
The short definition of Deductive reasoning is based on premises and if the premises are true, then the reasoning will be valid.
We use deductive reasoning on a daily basis-
It is dangerous to drive on icy streets. If the streets are icy -it is dangerous to drive on them.
Be careful around bees, they might sting you. (The reasoning is understood that all bees might sting.)
If the dog is growling - be careful or you might get bitten.
All these things are examples of deductive reasoning that we use on a daily basis. –
In Romans 10 verses 14 to 17 we learn about the deductive reasoning which Paul used. 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
So, in v 14 Paul uses deductive reasoning to stress some points- V 14 how can they call on someone that they have never heard about? They cannot believe if they don’t even know, and how can they even hear the gospel if someone doesn’t go and preach the gospel to them?? And even the preacher can’t go unless someone sends them, and those who do go, he says in v 15 have beautiful feet.
I hope that you too have pretty feet.
