Seems like many folks talk about different ways to deal with stress, this morning I read some ways that pop culture thinks that we can deal with stress negative emotions, they listed 7 ways to do this;
1. Reduce stress by kissing and hugging
2. Reduce stress by swearing
3. Reduce stress by eating garlic
4. By eating chocolate
5. By watching youtube
6. By gardening
7. By embracing clutter
One fellow said that his doctor asked him if he had had a stress test and he said yes, it is called life.
Stress is when you wake up screaming and you realize you haven't fallen asleep yet.
Our jobs can be stressful -my wife came home from work one day this week and said this day was a total waste of makeup.
Stress sometimes leads to depression, and even despair. If despair gains a stronghold in your life, it can steal your joy and even your health away. So how do we deal with the stress and pressures of life which are certain to come to all of us?
I recommend some simple ways to deal with stress- take the focus off yourself, seek ways to serve others, spend time in God’s Word and in prayer. Read Books about the faith of those that have walked faithfully with God, fill your mind with good things.
The Apostle Paul was definitely a person with a high stress life. In 2 Corinthians 11 we read that he received 39 lashes five different times, he was beaten three times with rods, pelted with stones, and shipwrecked 3 times and had been in arrested and imprisoned several times. Yes, he knew a stressful life, yet knew who to turn to during times of stress.
In Philippians 4 he writes: 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
Meditate on these things and do them, and God’s Peace will be in your life. Plus, I am fairly certain that kissing and hugging may call more stress.
